Bengaluru: At a time when everyone is, ought to support PM Modi’s endeavour to keep the Coronavirus at bay with the help of social distancing, as the virus can spread easily, the Karnataka state Congress refuses to pay heed. 

Newly crowned KPCC chief DK Shivakumar held a meeting at the Congress office in Bengaluru today. it was attended by former office bearers, district presidents, working presidents. 

Though no one is opposed to such meetings, but at the time of the country going through difficult times due to the Coronavirus, such meetings become open invitation for the dreaded virus to spread. 
Interestingly, senior national Congress leaders like Shashi Tharoor, P Chidambaram and Kapil Sibal expressed satisfaction over PM’s call for Janata curfew and promised it to follow it. 

In fact, earlier this week, a number of Shivakumar’s admirers gathered in large numbers to felicitate him as soon as he was crowned.

In his televised address to the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged his countrymen not to panic but be more cautious in dealing with the Coronavirus spread.
Using the concepts of restraint and resolve, the Prime Minister urged the citizens for a self-imposed curfew called the Janata curfew. As part of this exercise, citizens who are not a part of essential services like police, medicine etc would stay at home from 7 am to 9 pm on March 22, this Sunday.

The same evening at 5pm, the PM has urged the people to express their gratitude those medical staff who have been working tirelessly amid the dangers of the virus to help patients.

The Prime Minister’s exhortation for such an endeavour has received tremendous response from all quarters. People have understood the importance of such a move and are willing to participate in it.
