Kolkata: Bengali actress and  BJP’s Hooghly candidate Locket Chatterjee’s house was ransacked on Friday by unidentified miscreants. The house was on rent and was located in  Bandel.

Chatterjee has blamed the ruling party TMC. She said, according to reports, “Some men have been lingering around my house for some days now. Yesterday I confronted them and threatened to click their photographs, after which they fled. My house was vandalised this morning while I was out campaigning."

The actor turned politician also said that the goons threatened the landlord for renting out the house to her.

Meanwhile, TMC has denied the allegations and said that its workers were not involved in any way.

TMC Hooghly district chief, Tapan Dasgupta, said:  “It is a conspiracy of the BJP to blame us. We have nothing to do with this. They are blaming us as they are scared of losing these elections.”

Hooghly, Locket’s constituency, is scheduled to go for polls on May 6.
