Jharkhand: Senor BJP leader Ashwini Upadhyay said that JMM leader Hemant Soren's remark is so below the belt. He said, "People are aware of the dedication of Yogi Adityanath ji. Soren's statement is unacceptable. This shows the frustration of JMM as the party lacks people's support."

Krishna Saagar Rao, BJP spokesperson said that Soren's statement is an insult to Hindus across the nation.

JMM leader and the chief ministerial face of the grand alliance in Jharkhand, Hemant Soren stoked up a controversy with his rape remark while addressing a rally during a campaign in Jharkhand.

Addressing a campaign in the poll bound Jharkhand, Hemant Soren made defamatory statements against Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and called the BJP leaders as saffron clad rapists.

He said, "Today many daughters are being burnt in the country. I have come to know that Yogi Ji, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, is walking around wearing ochre robes. These are the people of the BJP, who don’t get married and instead wear the saffron robes and plunder the dignity of the daughters.”

Hemant Soren added, “You see in UP, rapists are being given rest in the hospital, the victim is being punished in jail. Will we vote for those who plunder the dignity of many daughters? Will they vote for those who fight ideologies?”

Reacting to this, Rao further said, "It's important that voters of Jharkhand understand that Soren's ire is not just against the BJP, but the entire Hindu community. He and his party should be taught a lesson in this election."
