Kerala CPM leader Kodiyeri Balakrishnan’s son Binoy Vinodini Balakrishnan has given his blood sample for DNA test in JJ hospital in Mumbai
Mumbai: Kerala CPM secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan's son Binoy Vinodini Kodiyeri, who is accused of raping a bar dancer, has finally given his blood sample for DNA test in JJ hospital in Mumbai, on Tuesday (July 30). Earlier, it was decided to conduct the DNA test in Dr RN Cooper general hospital in Juhu, Mumbai.
Reports suggested that the final change in the hospital occurred to avoid media attention. The blood sample of the complainant woman and her son would also be collected soon.
A division bench of the Bombay high court ordered Binoy, accused in bar dancer rape case to give his blood sample on July 30. The court also directed the accused to submit the test results at the court in two weeks in a sealed envelope.
Earlier on July 8, Binoy had agreed to sampling of his blood for DNA testing. But he failed to provide blood sample for the DNA test claiming that he was sick and requested the sampling of the blood for DNA testing be postponed.
Second time, Binoy had been reluctant to undergo the test, on the argument that the high court was yet to pronounce judgment on his plea to cancel the FIR.
On July 3, the Mumbai Dindoshi sessions court granted anticipatory bail to Binoy. The court had granted Binoy bail under strict conditions including, presenting himself before police officers every week for a month.
The accused was also required to pay a security deposit of Rs 25,000 and was not permitted to try to influence any witness, the court had remarked.
