Bengaluru: It has been 7 months since India took up the Balakot airstrike against Pakistan.

Now, the Indian Air Force has showcased the story of the Balakot aerial strikes in a promotional video at the annual Air Force Day press conference by Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria.

The airstrike was taken up as a retaliatory action against the Pulwama attacks, in which Pakistan-sponsored terrorists rammed a car into trucks, martyring 44 Indian soldiers.

The airstrike was the first time since the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 that attacking warplanes had crossed the Line of Control.

During the presser, chief of air staff RK Bhadauria said, “The operational preparedness of the IAF has been of a very high order and it achieved a number of operational milestones last year, including the Balakot strike.”

“The IAF is prepare to meet any contingency and does not rest on past laurels,” he added.
