PM Modi hailed Supreme Court's verdict on Ayodhya. The apex court handed over disputed land to Ramjanmabhoomi Nyas and 5-acre alternate land for Muslims. PM Modi said this verdict will help people restore faith in the judiciary.
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has hailed the Supreme Court's verdict on disputed Ayodhya land.
The verdict clearly illustrates everybody is equal before the law and it will increase people's faith in the judiciary, said Modi.
The Supreme Court has ruled that the disputed land will be given to the Ramjanmabhoomi Nyas to build Ram temple. The court also directed to give 5-acre alternate land to the SUnni Waqf Board to build the Masjid.
The court's decision also directed the Centre to form a Trust (Ayodhya Trust) to proceed with the nitty gritties of building Ram Mandir. The Trust will also hand over the suitable land to the Sunny Board.
Reacting on the historic verdict, PM Modi tweeted: "Supreme Court’s Ayodhya judgment is notable because it highlights that any dispute can be amicably solved in the spirit of due process of law. It reaffirms the independence, transparency and farsightedness of our judiciary. It clearly illustrates everybody is equal before the law."
"The halls of justice have amicably concluded a matter going on for decades. Every side, every point of view was given adequate time and opportunity to express differing points of view. This verdict will further increase people’s faith in judicial processes," he said.
"The calm and peace maintained by 130 crore Indians in the run-up to today’s verdict manifests India’s inherent commitment to peaceful coexistence. May this very spirit of unity and togetherness power the development trajectory of our nation. May every Indian be empowered," PM added.
