Meanwhile, currently, Australia has a total of 7,192 cases of Coronavirus, out of which 103 people have succumbed to the infection. On May 25, he stated that the country will not reopen its borders anytime soon and added that it will continue its talks with New Zealand for a trans-Tasman safe travel zone.

Incidentally, the Australian PM was scheduled to visit New Delhi in January 2020, but he had to forbid himself, all thanks to the bush fires in Australia.

Furthermore, he was slated to meet Narendra Modi in the month of May, but all thanks to the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic, that too had to be postponed.

When Prime Minister Modi meets his Australian counterpart, he will expand strategic partnership keeping in mind China’s aggression in the Indo-Pacific region.

It should also be noted that Australia is one of the many countries that have supported a global call for an inquiry into the genesis of the coronavirus.
