The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has left India grasping for oxygen. With the nation facing an acute dearth of medical equipment, several leading corporates and tycoons have stepped up to help India in its battle against Covid-19.

Stepping into action, TATA, Adani, Ambani-led Reliance, and Amazon have pledged to support the government’s effort to increase the production and supply of oxygen. .

According to Foreign secretary Harsh VardhanShringla, more than 40 countries, including the US, Australia, New Zealand, Europe as well as neighbouring nations such as Bangladesh and Bhutan have committed to providing India with medical equipment and pharmaceutical products to keep a check on the unprecedented rise in Covid-19 cases.

India has prioritized procuring key medical requirements including oxygen and pharmaceutical products such as Remdesivir.
“We have prioritized certain areas. Liquid oxygen is one of the areas that has been a priority. We've also seen the requirement for anything that produces oxygen, oxygen generators, oxygen concentrators, oxygen-producing equipment, cryogenic tankers, transportation equipment for oxygen. We’ve also needed some urgent pharmaceutical products like Remdesivir and Tocilizumab,” Shringla added.
