All these schemes have been devised having the common thread of youth empowerment. In his younger days, the Prime Minister himself was adventurous, having Swami Vivekananda as his role model. And Swami Vivekananda himself was a great believer in the power of youth. He laid special emphasis on character-building.

So in all the schemes put in place, this aspect of Swami Vivekananda can be seen.

Surely, Modi has made great changes to include the youth in his programmes.

UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath says, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has completely changed the political agenda of the country in the last five years. Now, issues like villages, poverty, farmers, youth and women have been included in the agenda.”

In spite of his hectic lifestyle, Prime Minister has also taken time off to write a book for the youth which has been published as well.

Even in his Independence Day speeches, Prime Minister Modi has touched upon issues relating to the youth. In one such speech, he exhorted the youth to register themselves for the purpose of elections.

He had also launched a scheme for the youths titled ‘Youth with Modi’, a digital platform to communicate with the Prime Minister.

In a post-poll survey conducted by The Hindu, it was found out that 41% youth in the age group of 18 to 22 years favoured the BJP to form the government.
