With Independence Day falling on a Thursday this year, taking Friday off can give you a four-day weekend. In North India, extending the break to include Rakshabandhan on Monday results in a five-day holiday. To make the most of this extended time off, many people are planning trips to stunning tourist destinations. 

 

Online travel platforms Airbnb and MakeMyTrip have reported a substantial increase in website traffic. There are a lot of inquiries for both domestic and foreign travel.

Airbnb and Make My Trip have released information about the major tourist destinations that people are searching for the most. The list of both the companies includes Munnar, Goa, Lonavala, Puducherry, Mumbai, Bengaluru, New Delhi, Udaipur, Mahabaleshwar, Ooty, Coorg. Most of the people are preferring to travel to beaches and hilly areas. Some people are also turning to cultural centres.

Most of the people wishing to travel abroad are choosing countries like Thailand, Singapore, Dubai and Sri Lanka. Tourist destinations like Bangkok and Phuket make Thailand even more attractive.
