Those contesting the Lok Sabha polls are - C Lalrosanga of the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF), Zoram People's Forum (ZPM) and the Congress combine's common candidate Lalnghinglova Hmar (Independent), Nirupam Chakma of the BJP, TBC Lalvenchhunga of People's Representation for Identity and Status of Mizoram (PRISM) and two independents - Lalhriatrenga Chhangte and Lalthlamuani. Zothantluanga of the MNF, independent nominee Lalbuanga Sailo, sponsored by the ZPM-Congress combine and Rev Zaichhawna Hlawndo of 'Zoram Thar' were contesting the Aizawl West - I by-election.
