The undersea tunnel is a prominent feature of Mumbai's newly inaugurated Coastal Road, connecting Marine Drive to the Bandra-Worli Sea Link. Stretching over 10.8 kilometers, the project includes a two-kilometer tunnel between Priyadarshini Park and Marine Drive. Launched in phases, the first phase was inaugurated on March 11 by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis, and Ajit Pawar.

Construction on the Coastal Road project commenced on October 13, 2018, with an estimated cost of ₹12,721 crore. The initiative aims to ease traffic congestion and provide a smoother commute for Mumbai residents.

In terms of his professional endeavors, Bachchan recently appeared in the dystopian action film 'Ganapath,' alongside Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon.
