New Delhi: As tensions run high in India and Pakistan, everyone is dishing out opinions no one asked for on social media. While everyone is entitled to their own opinion, a few of those opiners seem to be sharing spreading vitriol and inciting hatred such as Pakistani actor Veena Malik.

After news of Indian Air Force officer, Wg Cmdr Abhinandan Varthaman, being in Pakistan custody hit the Interweb, many in India and Pakistan clamoured for his safe return. Malik, however, mocked the soldier saying, "Abhi abhi tu ayo ho...achi mehmaan nawazi ho gi aap ki." Her insensitive comment was accompanied with a bloodied photo of the pilot.

The tweet invited the ire of many netizens in both the countries and even Bollywood celebrities. India's very own spitfire, actor Swara Bhaskar gave a befitting reply to the Pakistani actor writing, "Veena ji.. Shame on you & ur sick mindset. Your glee is just gross! Our officer is a hero- brave, gracious & dignified in the face of capture. At least some decency from that major in you army who was questioning #WingCommanderAbhinandan or the many Pakistanis suing 4 peace #sick."

Meanwhile, some netizens were quick to respond and hit the actor with facts as well as her controversial behaviour inside the Bigg Boss house. Ahemm...remember Ashmit Patel in Bigg Boss circa 2010?

However, undaunted, Veena continues to carry on and even poked fun at the Indian soldier's moustache. Talk about sinking to new lows.

The 35-year-old is known to court publicity through questionable channels even in Pakistan. There was a time when rage erupted in the neighbouring country over her topless image on the cover of FHM magazine India edition in which she had "ISI" written on her upper arm – the initials of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence spy agency.

Malik and her husband Asad were also sentenced to 26 years in prison by a Gilgit court for allegedly airing a blasphemous programme.
