Kalank star Varun Dhawan in a recent interview spoke about the crazy fan incident when her girlfriend, fashion designer Natasha Dalal received death threats.
Mumbai: While actor Varun Dhawan's fans are eagerly waiting for his upcoming period drama Kalank, the actor seems to be battling some drama in real life too. Recently, a fan reportedly hurled death threats towards his girlfriend, fashion designer Natasha Dalal when the actor refused to meet her.
A Filmfare report quoted his security team as saying, "There was a female fan, who was doing the rounds of his house for a long time. Varun sir usually obliges their selfie requests, if he is available. She was waiting for a couple of hours. Sir came late and she was insisting that she meet him then and there. He was pretty tired from the day's work and wanted to rest." The source also added, "She refused to leave and got into a squabble. Initially, she said she will hurt herself. When she was still not able to get through to Varun sir, she threw a fit. She kept mumbling how she will harm Natasha ma'am."
The incident escalated and the police had to be called in to remove the fan and a complaint was immediately filed against the lady. She has been booked under sections 504 (punishment for intentional insult and with intent to provoke breach of peace) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Addressing the issue, Varun told Mumbai Mirror, "Unfortunately, I can’t speak about this because the police are involved."
The actor had publically opened about his relationship with longtime girlfriend, Natasha, on the show Koffee With Karan. On the work front, he will be seen in Abhishek Varman's Kalank alongside Alia Bhatt, which releases on April 17.
