Actor Randeep Hooda recently opened up about the challenges he faced while working on his film 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar,' shedding light on the personal sacrifices and financial investments he made for the project.

In a candid conversation on the BeerBiceps podcast, Hooda discussed his journey with the film, expressing his aspirations for it to resonate globally and not be confined to a specific political narrative, especially during an election year. He revealed the immense personal stake he had in the project, including significant financial contributions.

The actor recounted selling off properties in Mumbai that were inherited from his father to finance the film, emphasizing the lack of external support for the project. Despite facing financial constraints, Hooda remained determined to create a high-quality cinematic experience that transcended mere commercial interests.

One of the notable challenges Hooda faced during the production was his physical transformation for the role, which required him to undergo significant weight loss. He revealed that he had to bring his weight down to 60 kilograms and endure strict dietary regimens throughout filming, including periods of fasting and limited food intake.

Maintaining such a low weight took a toll on Hooda's health, leading to sleep problems and instances of fainting on set. He recalled a particularly harrowing incident where he injured his knee while riding a horse, ultimately tearing three ligaments. Despite the injury, Hooda persisted with his commitment to the project, even resorting to extreme diets to manage his weight amidst physical limitations.

Despite the challenges, 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar' premiered to mixed reviews on March 22 but has managed to achieve moderate success at the box office. Alongside Hooda, the film also stars Ankita Lokhande in a significant role, contributing to its overall impact.
