Bengaluru: Netflix, the video streaming platform, revealed the date for the premiere of the second season of Sacred Games, putting an end to the suspense. The Netflix Original series will premiere on August 15.

The video streaming platform confirmed that the second season of the Indian web television series will release next month on a Tuesday.

Releasing the trailer on Twitter, Netflix India said, “Calendar nikalo bhaiyo aur behno. #SacredGames2 ka release date ayela hai! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-Xe8gLBc5I …”

The fans got to see the first look of the show this year when photos shot on OnePlus 7 Pro were released by the franchise. The posters had two Sacred Games characters featured on them -- Sartaj Singh (played by Saif Ali Khan) and Ganesh Gaithonde (played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui).

The platform also released a behind-the-scenes video that was also shot on OnePlus 7Pro.

Sacred Games is based on a voluminous novel by acclaimed writer Vikram Chandra. Netflix’s first locally produced original series has been directed by Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane.

The season 1 of the action drama featured Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte. The new season will also feature actors such as Kalki Koechlin and Ranvir Shorey.

Netflix said in October last year that it will stick with the team behind the Indian hit show Sacred Games, a second time after an independent investigation into allegations of sexual harassment against Varun Grover and Vikas Bahl who were involved with the show.
