The 1990s were a fantastic decade for fans of Hindi cinema. The romance was sweet, the music was amazing, and the jokes were hilarious. We are referring to the era in which a plethora of family-friendly films were available to view without the constant fear of awkward moments when a romantic scene began. In Bollywood comedy, the 1990s truly were the Golden Age.

Here's a selection of comedy movies you can watch all at once as the weekend draws near.

1. Gol Maal (1979):
Gol Mal is regarded as one of the greatest comedic movies ever produced in Bollywood, having won over both critics and viewers. Confusion was never so funny—a phony mustache, a hockey game, a job search. The booming laughs and screams of Utpal Dutt remain a legend.

2. Hera Pheri (2000):
A Hindi adaptation of the Malayalam movie from 1989 Rao Ramji To be honest, Hera Pheri is a cult favorite. The film centers on a problematic trio and how they become embroiled in a risky kidnapping situation.

3. Chupke Chupke (1975):
This one is cherished for the comedic chemistry between Dharmendra and Amitabh Bachchan, which followed the legendary Sholay. The entertaining story of a husband pulling a practical joke on his wife's father is told in the movie.

4. Chachi 420 (1997):
A convoluted storyline in which a father-in-law develops feelings for his son-in-law while she is impersonating a woman. The experience is very wicked. Kamal Hassan gave this incredibly endearing comedy his all, even though Mrs. Doubfire by Robin Williams served as a major inspiration.

5. Namak Halaal (1982):
Amitabh Bachchan was able to laugh, walk, and communicate in English. Mr. Bachchan and a fly were all it required to make the crowd laugh uncontrollably in a time when computer graphics were nonexistent, at least in Hindi movies.

6. Aankhen (1993):
This one kicked off David Dhawan's lifelong love of comedy and featured Munnu, Bunnu, and heaps and tons of confusion. Govinda and Chunky Pandey had an amazing, crazy bromance.
