Mumbai: After four women came forward to level sexual harassment allegations against director Sajid Khan, the Indian Film And Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA) issued a show-cause notice to him.

Responding to the same, the Housefull director denied the allegations and claimed that the accusations have caused 'irreparable harm' to his career. Khan was relieved from his directorial duties for the upcoming flick Housefull 4 after the accusations surfaced. Many Bollywood celebrities also spoke out against and severed ties with him.

"I apologise to IFTDA if any embarrassment has been caused to the association by the alleged accusation against me. These allegations have not only caused irreparable harm to my career but more importantly, grieved my mother and sister immensely. At the outset, I deny the complaints levelled against me as stated in your notice. I humbly request you to not to form any one-sided judgement. I am always happy to extend any cooperation to my association,” Khan responded.

Now, a meeting will be held between Sajid and members of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of the IFTDA on November 1 to hear his side for the POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Act enquiry. The IFTDA has received four complaints against the filmmaker.

Actor Saloni Chopra listed Khan as her #MeToo aggressor and shared graphic details about his inappropriate behaviour after an anonymous woman shared her account. She wrote, "I’m sure he’s done this to so many other girls, I just want them to know they’re not alone. It’s been 7 years, and it’s about time I said it out loud."
