Mumbai: Joining the ranks of recent biographical movies, the trailer of Akshay Kumar starrer Kesari dropped recently and has already created quite a buzz.

Kumar is sporting a fierce Sikh warrior look as he plays Havildar Ishar Singh, who lead the Sikh soldiers in the Battle of Saragarhi of 1897 in which 21 Sikh soldiers of the British Indian Army fought against 10,000 Afghan invaders. The Sikhs chose to fight to the death and the post was recaptured two days later by another British Indian contingent.

Even today the day is commemorated every year on 12 September, as Saragarhi Day.

The actor took to social media to share his new look and left fans shooketh.

Produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apurva Mehta and Sunir Kheterpal, the war drama is directed by Anurag Singh, the movie also stars Parineeti Chopra in the lead roles. The movie is set to release on March 21.
The trailer begins with the patriotic poem by Bismil Azimabadi - Sarfaroshi ki tamanna ab hamare dil mein hai, dekhna hai zor kitna bazu-e-qatil mein hai and moves to stills of Kumar as a soldier. Take a dekko.

Earlier, the actor had teased fans with a picture of himself from Kesari, captioning, "Aaj meri pagdi bhi Kesari, jo bahega mera woh lahoo bhi Kesari, aur mera jawaab bhi Kesari."  Apart from Kesari, two more projects on the same subject are also in the making Sons Of Sardaar and The Battle of Saragarhi.
