Stardom, stars and more, Bollywood's fresh face Kartik Aaryan reveals how it feels to make it big in Bollywood.
Mumbai: With Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’s box office success and now Luka Chuppi’s big opening, Kartik Aaryan is gradually proving that he is here to stay. The actor’s latest release Luka Chuppi has collected Rs 32.13 crores on its opening weekend and he is super happy. Talking about the success of his movies, Kartik said, “I am glad people are liking the film. I want more people to watch Luka Chuppi. I know they will be able to connect to the story. This is a film which everyone in the family can sit and watch together.”
He might be just a few films old, but Aaryan has already become a heartthrob for newcomer actors and is also enjoying a female fan following across the country. From Sara Ali Khan to Ananya Panday, everyone wants to go on a coffee date with him. When asked what is the reason that girls are getting attracted towards him, the actor blushed and replied, “Yes, I have heard that after Sara, now Ananya also wants to go on a coffee date with me. I am very happy that they have expressed their desire to drink coffee with me. I too love to drink coffee. Now that Luka Chuppi has released, I have ample time to go on coffee dates.” Was that a hint for the girls? Sara, Ananya please make a note!
The Gwalior boy, who made his Bollywood debut with Pyaar Ka Punchnama in 2011, revealed that his journey has not been an easy one. During an interaction with MyNation, Kartik said, “It took me seven years to reach this place where I am today. I have started getting recognition after a lot of struggle and hard work. So, I don’t want to lose this position.” He also informed that life has changed after Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’s success, saying, “Before Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, hardly any script used to come to me. At that time, I felt happy even If I could manage to get any director’s phone number. Now things are changing. Scripts have started coming to me. Directors, whose list of actors didn’t feature my name earlier, have started noticing me, which is a big thing for me.” The 28-year-old also expressed that now his ambition is to see scripts being written for him.
Kartik feels that the definition of stardom is changing and social media is responsible for it. He said, “I feel stardom is changing. It is our bad luck that we will not be able to experience stardom because lives of stars are no longer shrouded in mystery. What are they eating, where are they going everything is out there, thanks to social media. Hence stars who have spent 25-30 years in the industry and reached this level of stardom, we will not be able to do that.” But, does that mean Kartik will not be there in Bollywood after 25 years? The actor smiled, “I want to be lambi race ka ghoda and presently trying to create my position in the industry. Shah Rukh sir (Khan) is my inspiration.” The actor also expressed a desire to act in a Shah Rukh Khan biopic if it is ever made.
