Rashmika Mandanna has addressed the backlash she faced following the release of the movie 'Animal' in December 2023, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor. The film, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, received mixed reactions from audiences, with some praising it while others criticized it for being toxic. Rashmika, in particular, was targeted by trolls who took issue with her delivery of a dialogue during a Karva Chauth scene in the movie.

In a recent appearance on Neha Dhupia's show, Rashmika responded to the criticism by defending the hard work that went into the scene. She explained that the entire crew cheered after the completion of the nine-minute-long sequence, indicating that it was well-executed. Despite this, she found herself facing backlash specifically for one dialogue from the same scene, leaving her questioning whether she was out of touch with audience preferences.

Addressing the issue of online trolling, Rashmika emphasized her dislike for attacks on women's bodies but acknowledged that criticism of her performance or the film itself was fair game. She highlighted the disconnection between her perception of the scene's quality and the audience's response, underscoring the importance of staying grounded and open to feedback.

Despite the trolling, 'Animal' proved to be a commercial success, grossing over Rs 900 crore worldwide. Rashmika's upcoming projects include 'Pushpa 2 - The Rule' with Allu Arjun, 'Kubera' with Dhanush, 'Chhava' with Vicky Kaushal, as well as 'Rainbow' and 'The Girlfriend.'

Rashmika Mandanna's response sheds light on the complexities of navigating audience reactions in the entertainment industry, where perceptions can vary widely between creators and consumers. Her commitment to staying connected with the audience and remaining receptive to feedback reflects a dedication to her craft and a willingness to evolve as an artist.
