Mumbai: PM Narendra Modi, the biopic has been one of the most talked about films of the year and now, the makers have finally revealed the release date. 

The life story of the Prime Minister will hit cinema screens on April 12. The makers unveiled the first look and poster of the film in January in 23 languages that made a splash on the internet.

The film stars actor Vivek Oberoi as PM Modi and the filming began on January 28 in the state of Gujarat. The movie was also shot in Ahmedabad, Kutch-Bhuj and in the beautiful mountains of Uttarakhand. The film is currently completing its last leg of the shoot in Mumbai.

Producer Sandip Ssingh said, "This is a very special film and a story that needs to be told. I hope this story of faith inspires the audiences. We are excited and happy to release the story of 1.3 billion people."

Directed by Omung Kumar, PM Narendra Modi, the film will traverse the journey of Narendra Damodardas Modi from his humble beginnings to his years as Chief Minister onto his landmark win at the 2014 election and finally being nominated as the Prime Minister of India.

The biopic has quite a stellar cast including actors Darshan Kumaar, Boman Irani, Manoj Joshi, Prashant Narayanan, Zarina Wahab, Barkha Bisht Sengupta, Anjan Shrivastav, Yatin Karyekar, Rajendra Gupta and Akshat R Saluja in important roles.
