Son of veteran actor Biswajit Chatterjee, Prosenjit is one of the popular figures in Bengali cinema. His journey began over three decades ago as a child artiste in Chotto Jigyasa. The star is one of the most awarded artists, with numerous honours in the best actor category.
He is also one of the very few Tollywood actors who has triumphantly walked into several genres ranging from action, romance, thriller and drama. He will soon be seen essaying challenging roles of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and an ascetic in the upcoming film 'Gumnaami'. In an interview, Prosenjit said that he was always waiting for good roles and the one offered to him in the Srjit Mukherji movie was beyond his dreams.
He also talked about the movie Gumnaami, which portrays Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and the character of an ascetic in Faizabad called 'Gumnaami Baba', but there was no effort in the movie to establish that the two were the same.
