Filmmaker Gurinder Chadha has refuted recent reports suggesting that Alia Bhatt will portray an Indian Princess in her forthcoming Disney project. Chadha, known for her diverse cinematic ventures, took to Twitter to dispel the rumors, clarifying that discussions with Bhatt centered around a different project altogether. Chadha emphasized that the script for the Disney film is still in development.

The alleged casting buzz surrounding Alia Bhatt emerged in the wake of Deadline's 2022 announcement regarding Disney's plans for an original musical feature inspired by a prominent figure from Indian history. Gurinder Chadha and Paul Mayeda Berges are collaborating on the screenplay, with Chadha undertaking directing and production responsibilities. Despite the speculation, specific details regarding the storyline remain undisclosed.

On the professional front, Alia Bhatt recently marked her debut in Hollywood with the Netflix film 'Heart of Stone,' sharing the screen with Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan. Currently, she is gearing up for the release of 'Jigra,' a film helmed by Vasan Bala, exploring the dynamics of sibling relationships. The project is a joint venture between Alia's Eternal Sunshine Productions and Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, featuring Vedang Raina alongside Bhatt.

Moreover, Bhatt has embarked on a new journey within the Yash Raj Films (YRF) Spy Universe, where she is set to headline an upcoming espionage thriller. Joining her in pivotal roles are Sharvari Wagh and Bobby Deol, who will portray the antagonist. Additionally, she is set to collaborate once again with acclaimed director Sanjay Leela Bhansali for the epic saga 'Love & War,' featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in prominent roles.
