Salman Khan is Bollywood's most eligible bachelor. The actor, who is in his fifties, is aging gracefully and continues to make females his fans with his lovely nature. Salman's friends, family, and fans frequently inquire about his wedding intentions. Everyone knows that Salman and Sangeeta Bijlani, who were madly in love, had planned to marry, but things did not go their way.

In an exclusive interview, actress Sharmin Segal Mehta, who is Sanjay Leela Bhansali's niece, stated that she turned down Salman's marriage proposal.
She recalls meeting Salman for the first time on the sets of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam when she was about two or three years old.

Sharmin stated that Salman had playfully asked her, "Will you marry me?" She laughed and said, "No." Sharmin claimed to have a crush on Salman, particularly while watching "O O Jane Jana" from Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya. The actress stated that as a child, she struggled to understand the concept of marriage and constantly said no to everything.

She even talked about working with her uncle, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and how she discovered he was her uncle while seeing Devdas when she was 18 years old. Sharmin acknowledged her appreciation for him and stated that she worked with him on the Bajirao Mastani sets.
She described her uncle Bhansali as a diligent worker and mentor who taught her a different side of herself while shooting Heeramandi.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Salman Khan have a long history of friendship, beginning with their work on Khamoshi- The Musical (1996) and continuing with Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Saawariya.

Salman and Bhansali were scheduled to collaborate on a film called Inshallah with Alia Bhatt a few years ago, but the production fell through for whatever reason, and many believed this caused a rift in their friendship, but by attending the premiere of Heeramandi, Salman has put those suspicions to rest.

Talking about Heeramandi, Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Fardeen Khan, Shekhar Suman, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Sharmin Segal play the lead parts. Heeramandi is a period drama about the lives of Lahore's courtesans.
