The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards for 2024 are set to take place on February 19 (IST) at the Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall in London. Actor David Tennant will be hosting the prestigious award ceremony. In India the award ceremony will be streamed live on Lionsgate Play at from 12.30 a.m.

Adding to Indian pride, actress Deepika Padukone will grace the stage as one of the presenters. Deepika shared this news on her social media handle. The 'Gehraiyaan' actor expressed gratitude for the same. She will be joined by Dua Lipa, Dev Patel, Himesh Patel, David Beckham among others as presenters.

Deepika Padukone's involvement in international awards ceremonies isn't new; previously, she presented at the Oscars when the song 'Naatu Naatu' from the film RRR won the Best Original Song category.

As for the contenders vying for top honors at the BAFTAs this year, notable films include 'Oppenheimer' with 13 nominations, 'Poor Things' with 11 nominations, and both 'Killers of the Flower Moon' and 'The Zone of Interest' with 9 nominations each. However, there have been some surprises and notable omissions. Lily Gladstone, despite being anticipated to shine at the Oscars next month, was notably absent from the BAFTA nominations. Similarly, Andrew Scott failed to secure a nomination for 'All of Us Strangers,' despite his co-stars Claire Foy and Paul Mescal each receiving recognition.
