According to a report by Mid Day, Ayushmann Khurrana and Anees Bazmee are currently in talks for a project titled Bhootiyapa, which falls within the horror-comedy genre. While specific details about the film are still being finalized, it is evident that both Khurrana and Bazmee are enthusiastic about the collaboration. Bazmee is also planning to commence work on the sequel to the popular film No Entry by the end of the year, while Khurrana has the Sourav Ganguly biopic lined up in his schedule. As a result, the duo is coordinating their schedules to determine the best time to commence work on their forthcoming project.

In an earlier conversation, Khurrana hinted at the possibility of working with Bazmee, stating, "Yaar, ab yeh kaise main bataun? Lekin jab kuch hoga toh bataunga zarur" (How do I even explain this now? But when something happens, I'll definitely tell you).
