Actor Akhil Mishra met with an accident and passed away today. He played the role of librarian Dubey in Aamir Khan's movie '3 Idiots'. He was 58 when he died. He slipped while working in his kitchen, according to a report in the ETimes. According to reports, his actress wife Suzanne Bernert was in Hyderabad for a shoot when she learned of Akhil's unexpected passing away. She headed straight back home. Akhil Mishra's body has apparently been sent for postmortem. His wife Suzanne, meanwhile, is still in disbelief at his passing. She has been adding the finishing touches on the cremation preparations. She was cited as stating, "My heart is broken, my second half is gone," by the ETimes.

Over the years, Akhil Mishra has graced his presence in a variety of films and television programmes. His most well-known performances were as Librarian Dubey in the film '3 Idiots' and as Umed Singh Bundela in the television series Uttaran.  He has appeared in a number of films, including 'Don', 'Well Done', 'Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain', 'Gandhi My Father', and 'Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi'. In addition, Akhil Mishra appeared in a number of television programmes, including Pardes Mein Mila Koi Apna, Princess Dollie Aur Uska Magic Bag, CID, Shrimaan Shrimati, Bharat Ek Khoj, and Udaan. Akhil Mishra previously wed Manju Mishra. In 1997, she passed away. Later, on February 3, 2009, German actress Suzanne Bernert got married to Akhil Mishra.
