Actor Vikrant Massey recently issued an apology for a tweet from 2018 featuring a cartoon of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita that resurfaced and drew criticism for its content. Known for his roles in successful films like '12th Fail,' Massey clarified that his intention was never to hurt sentiments or disrespect the Hindu community.

Massey promptly deleted the tweet and took to social media to issue an apology, acknowledging the distasteful nature of the content. He emphasized that similar sentiments could have been conveyed without resorting to including the controversial cartoon. The incident gained attention when Mumbai-based advocate Ashutosh Dubey shared a screenshot of his conversation with Massey, revealing the actor's intent to apologize for the old tweet.

Directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, '12th Fail' is a biographical drama depicting the inspiring life of Manoj Kumar Sharma, who overcame poverty to become an IPS officer. The film stars Massey and Medha Shankar in lead roles and is currently available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.

In addition to his apology, Massey has also made headlines for his involvement in the upcoming film 'The Sabarmati Report,' produced by Ektaa Kapoor. The movie, which also features Raashii Khanna and Riddi Dogra in pivotal roles, delves into the tragic real-life incident of the 2002 Sabarmati Express fire in Gujarat. Scheduled for release on May 3, 2024, the film promises to explore the events surrounding the incident in depth.
