1. Zero tolerance towards terrorism: The BJP laid down its security doctrine. Terrorism would not be tolerated in the least as “exemplified by the Surgical strikes and the Air Strikes carried out recently.”

2. Solid Defence: The BJP has promised to speed up the purchases of “outstanding defence-related equipment and weapons”. It will strengthen the “strike capability” of the armed forces. Citing the recently announced AK 203 rifle factory in Amethi, the manifesto promises to take the ‘Make in India’ project further for self-reliance in defence procurement.

3. Sharpening internal security: The BJP has promised modernisation of central armed police forces as well as state police and equip them to deal with the new type of crimes such as cyber-crimes.

4. Combating infiltration: Citing how illegal immigration has changed the “cultural and linguistic identity” of some regions in India, the manifesto promises to take forward the National Registry of Citizens.

5. In the Agricultural sector, the BJP has promised apart from already operating welfare schemes such as PM Samman Nidhi Yojana etc, the manifesto promises to reduce agri imports and increase exports. It also promised Rs 1 lakh interest-free Kisan Credit Card loans. This is apart from creating a chain of cold stores, cooperatives and increasing the use of technology in agriculture.

6. A new Matsya Sampada Yojana with Rs 10,000 crore will be started to help fishermen.

7. The manifesto promises to make India the third largest economy of the world aiming at five trillion dollar economy.

8. BJP promised Rs 100 lakh crore investment in infrastructure by 2024.

9. A ‘Seed Start UP Fund’ will be created to encourage entrepreneurship. New focus on start ups of SC, ST, OBC and EBC communities.

10. New ‘Jal Jeevan Yojana’ and ‘Nal se Jal’ fior piped water for all.
