Damascus/New Delhi: A team of Strategic News International (SNI) comprising Amitabh Revi and Prateek Suri travels beyond Damascus in their tour of Syria to reach the region that has been, as recently as in May 2018, seized from the terrorists of the Islamic State (IS or ISIS). They find the people here speaking a language that descended from the Aramaic spoken at the time of Jesus of Nazareth. There are marvellous relics of Christianity in this area, built during the Byzantine era. It was heartening to see SNI's guide, a Muslim, who was pleased to note the restoration of the churches. The area also houses the shared heritage of Judaism, Eastern Orthodox Christianity and Islam and is believed to deliver the believer with its spiritual power.
