Dubai's popular chain owned by Kerala-based entrepreneur, Lulu has sacked a Malayali employee for posting offensive social media comments on Sabarimala temple.
According to Manorama Online, Lulu Group has fired Deepak, an employee based out of Kerala for posting offensive comments on Sabarimala temple. He was working at the company's hypermarket situated in the Middle East.
Indian billionaire and owner of Lulu group, MA Yusuff Ali, hails from Kerala.
The company has the policy of zero toleration on divisive tendencies. Lulu chief communication officer Nandakumaran Nair had clarified on the fact that these kinds of offensive tendencies will not be tolerated by the company.
It is also said that Lulu had advised all its employees to stay away from making any kind of statements on the social media that hurt religious sentiments or lead to spreading hatred.
It can be noted that, the company also had sacked an employee who had posted lewd comments about girls during the deluge that marred Kerala, recently.
During this case, Chief Communications Officer (CCO) of Lulu group V Nandakumar had said, "We took immediate steps to terminate his services and send out a very loud and clear message to the society about our stance in such issues. We as an organization have always stood for humanitarian values and highest ethical practices."
