The man who killed Telangana student Sharath Koppu in the US was shot down by Kansas cops

The suspect who had shot Indian student Sharath Koppu in the US has allegedly been killed by the Kansas City Police in a shootout on Sunday (15 July).

The suspect who had shot Sharath at a restaurant at J's Fish and Chicken Market in the United States on 6 July was under surveillance of the Kansas police. However, his name and details have not been released yet. 

Latest details stated that there was gunfire exchange between the suspect and the cops, which resulted in killing him. It is said that in the gunfire two cops were injured and are said to be out of danger now.

It is said that the suspect charged on officers with a semi-automatic “AK-47-type” rifle as they were conducting a probe at a hotel. The suspect had gone missing but the police zeroed in on him and were about to catch him when he fired at the police.

Sharath, an Indian student from Telangana was shot dead on 6 July. He studied at the University of Missouri, in Kansas City and worked part time at a restaurant. His body was brought back to Hyderabad on 11 July and was cremated the next day.
