New York: Teenage climate change activist Greta Thunberg on Monday (September 23) made an emotional speech at the United Nations Climate Action Summit by condemning world leaders for failing to take strong measures to fight against climate change.

During her emotional speech, Greta Thunberg repeatedly questioned the world leaders saying, "How dare you," as they failed to take measures to tackle climate change.

Thunberg, who was visibly emotional, made stern remarks at the opening of the summit that the previous generations that have polluted the world most, and now, the present generation are burdened to take precautions on the climate change.

In fact, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the gathering first and said that between 2015 and 2017, India's tree and forest cover has increased by 0.8 million hectares.

"The time for talking is over. The world needs to act now," PM Modi said, urging people to join hands to save the earth.

"I would like to announce that India would raise its ambition of the total area that would be restored from its land degradation status, from twenty-one million hectares to twenty-six million hectares between now and 2030," the Prime Minister said.
