Dubai court gives Indian man jail term, deportation order for forging parking ticket

Synopsis

The parking ticket issued by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) was forged by using Photoshop, according to Khaleej Times

A court in Dubai has given an Indian man a three-month suspended jail term and a deportation order after he was found forging a parking ticket to avoid payment.

The parking ticket issued by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) was forged by using Photoshop, according to Khaleej Times.

The 25-year-old Indian man was caught on March 10 in Al Rafaa but had not been identified yet.

The incident came to light when an inspector working for the RTA was checking cars in a paid parked space in Al Karama. When the car owner was summoned by the police, he produced the forged tickets.

During investigation, the suspect also admitted that he had copied an original RTA ticket and made a forged ticket, which he placed in the car. Both the parking tickets have been seized.

The ruling has been appealed.
