Tirupati: Income Tax raids were conducted at the residence of the chairman of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam, Putta Sudhakar Yadav. While reports said that the raids led to the seizure of a large amount of cash and documents, the Income tax official has denied it.

The TTD chairman is restricted from leaving his residence and speaking to media. More details on the raids are expected.

As per media reports, the TDP has alleged that these raids are on the lines of the recent raids that were conducted in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and suspects that more raids are likely to be held on TDP leaders and sympathisers in the coming days. The TDP is also looking at the possibility of countering the Income Tax raids in the state.
