Congress leader Ashok Kheny has embarrassed the grand old party by saying that he would want BJP’s BS Yeddyurappa to become the chief minister of Karnataka again.

Speaking about caste politics within the Congress, the party leader Ashok Kheny said, “Service should be based on the ability to provide service.”

Kheny also went on to say that within the Congress, someone who is two or three levels lower will be made a boss. “Why should one do something like that? Our Yeddyurappa is there, he will fight for it,” said Kheny.

In an embarrassment to the Congress, Kheny said, “Though I am a Congressman, I still want Yeddyurappa to become the chief minister again.”

Ashok Kheny was inducted into the Congress in March 2018 despite opposition from a section within the party.

Kheny however lost the 2018 Assembly elections from Bidar south to Bandeppa Kashempur of the JD(S).
