Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy reacted to the news of a sting operation conducted by a media organisation in which a local party leader was caught carrying a sizeable sum of money. Kumaraswamy said that each candidate has been permitted to use up to Rs 70 lakh during the election, “so there is no point in conducting sting operations.” In his speech he also stated that he is confident the JD(S)-Congress alliance will win more than 20 seats.
