Thoothukudi: Soon after the poll body announced the cancellation of Lok Sabha election at Vellore Lok Sabha constituency in Tamil Nadu, the Income Tax officials on Tuesday night entered the residence of DMK leader and Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi in Thoothukudi. Kanimozhi is contesting against Tamil Nadu BJP chief Tamilisai Soundararajan in Thoothukudi Lok Sabha poll.

The Income Tax department did not find anything from Kanimozhi's house. After the raids, Kanimozhi spoke to the media and said the party won't be “cowed down” by such incidents and the party will win. She added that the ruling party (BJP) is scared of DMK’s triumph and hence they are carrying out such raids to defame the image of the DMK. Tamil Nadu is going to polls on April 18 in the second phase.
