When Indian professor Dr Nikisha Jariwala set out to do her PHD, she knew it had to be on a topic that would benefit society. Close to 5 years ago, Dr. Jariwala set out to combine her love of technology with her passion for helping people. And so the transliteration project was born. Recently awarded the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Lifetime Achievement award, this professor from Surat has become a pillar of support for visually impaired people. On World Braille Day let’s celebrate Gujarat Professor Dr Nikisha Jariwala’s innovative model that converts Hindi, English and Gujarati text to Braille language.
