What is PFI and why is a ban being sought on it

The police have blamed outfits such as the Students Islamic Movement of India and the Popular Front of India (PFI) for the violence during the anti-CAA protests. In February, the then Jharkhand government had taken a decision to ban the PFI. In its dossier, the NIA said that the PFI has a radical approach.
