West Bengal: BJP vice president 'thrashed' by TMC workers during polls

In the video, several people who are alleged to be the workers of Trinamool Congress (TMC), were seen thrashing and kicking BJP vice president Jay Prakash Majumdar while the by-polls was underway in Karimpur constituency

Karimpur: Jay Prakash Majumdar, West Bengal BJP vice president and candidate for Karimpur Assembly by-polls was allegedly maltreated and kicked by Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers.

The incident occurred when voting was underway in the constituency.

Meanwhile, BJP leader Mukul Roy has written to the Election Commission (EC) for its immediate intervention in the by-polls in Karimpur, Kharagpur Sadar and Kaliaganj Assembly seats.

"Today 50 TMC goons surrounded, kicked and pushed BJP's Jay Prakash Majumdar. We demand the immediate removal of the Superintendent of Police (SP) and Additional SP," the letter read.
