Gurdaspur: While every city in India faces the issue of pollution and water crisis, a hospital in Gurdaspur, Punjab, gifts plants to its patients before they leave the hospital. The doctor in Babbar Hospital believes that the act could make the environment a little better for the future generations.

Many institutions in Punjab work along with the government to ensure that they do their bit for the environment. Babbar Multispeciality Hospital in Gurdaspur is one such institution which gifts a plant to every patient who is discharged from the hospital after the delivery of their child. Dr Ananya Babbar requests patients to look after the plant just like they would their own new-born.

Speaking about environmental issues across the country she said, "We just wanted to do something at our level and from our end. It is good if we can contribute towards the improvement of the environment in some way."

This initiative by Babbar Hospital has won the Water Warrior Challenge, a MyNation initiative to find the best way to save water.
