Telangana: Hyderabad medical students hold sit-in after police 'molest' protester

Hyderabad: Tension prevailed at Dr BRKR Government Ayurvedic College on Wednesday (July 31) after a plainclothesman allegedly molested a medical student while they staged a protest against relocating the college from the existing premises of government Unani hospital at Charminar to Erragadda Ayurvedic hospital in the city.

According to reports, the students alleged that doctors from Unani hospital are involved in shifting the college from the premises, hence, decided to hold a sit-in protest. But an unidentified police officer allegedly took advantage of the situation and molested a woman protester in the group.

Several students, who were present in the protest reportedly claimed that constables who were in their mufti dress had misbehaved with the girl students. The students are urged Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao to intervene and provide a solution.
