Kovilpatti: After MDMK chief Vaiko had accused the BJP of “betraying” the interests of Tamil Nadu and the Tamilians, state BJP president Tamilisai Soundararajan has hit back at him.

Vaiko said that he has joined the DMK-Congress alliance whose prime focus is the welfare of the country.

Retorting to Vaiko, Tamilisai questioned what the Congress has done for the country. “Wasn’t it because of the Congress that crores of Tamil people were killed in Sri Lanka?” asked Tamilisai.

Adding to her questions, Tamilisai asked, “What will Vaiko tell his own party members who went to the extent of setting themselves ablaze against an alliance with the DMK?”

Stating that the DMK and Congress have done nothing for the fishermen of the state, Tamilisai went on to say that the BJP has rescued scores of fishermen.

“The BJP has even built 40,000 houses for the fishermen and has ensured that the Tamilians in Sri Lanka are also safe,” added Tamilisai.

Further addressing the media, Tamilisai said that the AIADMK-led alliance in Tamil Nadu is a strong alliance and are united.

“All parties and members will only add strength to the alliance and everyone has accepted PM Modi as their ‘daddy’, who is protecting this country like a father.”

She also went on to say that the DMK-Congress must not be elected to power because they haven’t done anything for the state.
