Chinnammanur: A 47-year-old woman, accompanied by her son, allegedly killed her husband in Theni district. The victim’s wife, Jalena Marie, was arrested by police, whereas her son is absconding. The victim, Antoni Raja (55), an alcoholic and would allegedly fight with Marie frequently.
On the night of June 10, Raja allegedly physically abused Marie again. His son Rajkumar (22) who saw this got into a fight with his father. In a fit of rage, both Marie and Rajkumar smashed Raja's head with a large stone, killing him instantly. Soon after the incident, Rajkumar fled the house. Neighbours informed the police, who arrested Jelena. The victim’s body was shifted to Uthamapalayam Government Hospital for post-mortem. Police are on the lookout for Rajkumar.
