Sendurai: About 300 families from the Adi Kudikadu village near Sendurai, Tamil Nadu, face water problems throughout the year and they allege that no authorities take action on the same.

The land, that sees lush paddy and sugarcane fields have an acute shortage of drinking water.

The village has a lake, which was built 100 years ago, where rainwater is collected during the monsoons. The villagers use this collected water throughout the year.

They now claim that the water has become stagnant and slushy, all thanks to a cement factory that has encroached the land.

They further stated that they now use cloth filters to separate the silt from the water, before consuming it.

Villagers say that no authorities have come forward in maintaining the lake and now demand strict action against the cement factory.
