Tamil Nadu: Scuba divers clean coral reef, remove 20 kg of plastic waste

Ramanathapuram: The scuba divers on Thursday decided to create awareness on coastal cleanliness and protect the biosphere reserve in the region. The forest officials, along with the help of Wildlife Institute of India (WII), launched a clean drive in Palk Bay at Mandapam in Tamil Nadu.

After the WII conducted an hour-long cleanliness drive, the scuba divers recovered about 20 kg of plastic waste, which was embedded on the coral reef.
