Tamil Nadu: Rameshwaram fishermen repair boats, nets while govt calls for fishing ban

Rameshwaram: While the fishing ban is in place in Rameswaram as it is the season of breeding, fishermen are utilising this time for boat-restoration works. Several boats were seen getting repaired to hit the open water once the ban is lifted.

The boats were seen getting painted, fitted with new engines and propellers. Every year, fishing ban will be called between April 15 and June 15 because of the fish-breeding season.
