Tamil Nadu forest officials release Olive Ridley turtle hatchlings into sea

Dhanushkodi: Tamil Nadu’s Mandapam forest range on Thursday released the season’s first batch of Olive Ridley turtle hatchlings into the sea. More than 100 turtle hatchlings were released. The Olive Ridley turtles were hatched after the Dhanushkodi forest officials collected the eggs in January. The hatchery was located at MR Chathiram in Dhanushkodi.

With Ramanathapuram Mandapam forest range officer, S Sathish’s presence, a team of forest guards and sea turtle watchers released the hatchlings into the sea at MR Chathiram.
